The Victim Card
If you pout and complain out of frustration how sympathetic do your opponents will be toward you? If you start losing, and begin to openly bitch, moan, and carry on about it, you're essentially throwing in the towel, because this is when the sharks will smell the blood, and simply move in for the kill. Even to most inexperienced player knows to have the sense to kick you when you're down. From a psychological standpoint, to get the man-eaters to go devour someone else, you must learn to hide the fact that you've taken a severe beat. Don't turn your cards over and whine, "You only had two outs, how could you call me?" This stamps 'LOSER' on your forehead, and you can bet your next raise will be called by half the table. If you don't show your losing hand after the fact, nobody has to know, and therefore, the sharks won't be able to come feast on you since you're not whining a drawing attention to yourself like a moron would. Truth be told, if you the need for self-pity when you take a beat, go to the restroom and sob in a stall away from anyone's notice. Showing your hand at the table and wailing about how bad your luck is, will only encourage the other players to ruthlessly tear your but to shreds, and you'll deserver it just as much as they'll enjoy doing it. |
